Glossary

QR magnet

A physical magnet with a QR code you place somewhere (a fridge, a keepsake box). Scanning it starts a secure request to access your messages.

Unlock code

A short code printed on the magnet (e.g. ABCD-1234). Even after approval the recipient must enter it — holding the link alone is never enough.

Approval window

A period you set (1–7 days). After a scan it waits for your approval; if you don't respond, access is released automatically once the window passes.

Custodian (trusted contact)

A person you name to approve access on your behalf when you can't. They never see your message content.

Family vault

A shared space for several family members — each can keep their own messages. Available on Family and Legacy plans.

Memory QR

A remembrance profile linked to a QR code — coming as part of the higher plans.

Getting started

How does Semperia work, in short?+
You record a message (video, voice or text), create a QR magnet, and place it where your loved ones will find it. When they scan it, the message unlocks after your approval (or automatically once your window passes) and after they enter the code from the magnet.
Do I need to be technical?+
No. A vault can start with one sentence, recording guides you step by step, and you download and print the QR yourself. Stuck? Just message us.

Magnets & codes

What's the difference between the QR code and the unlock code?+
The QR code starts an access request. The unlock code (printed next to the QR) is a second factor — the recipient must enter it, so holding the link alone is never enough.
Can I attach one vault to several magnets?+
Yes. That gives more than one path to it — handy if you want a magnet in more than one place.

Delivery & approval

What is the approval window and who approves?+
After a scan, you (or your custodian) get a notification. You approve, decline, or let the window expire — once it passes, access is released automatically.
What happens after I'm gone?+
That's exactly what the automatic release and the custodian are for. Your words reach the right person even when you no longer can. See the section below and the FAQ.

Security & privacy

How are messages protected?+
Every message is encrypted (AES-256). No public profile, no ads, no selling data. We're a European company under Czech and EU law (GDPR).
Can I export or delete my data?+
Yes. GDPR gives you the right to access, export and delete it at any time.
